- Active: What the subject does
- Passive: What is done to the subject
- Examples of basic assertive sentences
- 10–25 min: Active → Passive (Assertive Sentences)
- Present, Past, Future Tenses
- Examples: I write a letter → A letter is written by me
- Practice: Students convert 5 simple sentences on board
- 25–35 min: Preposition 'by' is not always used
- 25–35 min: Active → Passive with Modals
- can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must, ought to
- Example: He can do it → It can be done by him
- Class practice: Convert 5 sentences using different modals
- 40–45 min: Quick Exercise
- Transform 3 active assertive sentences into passive
- Feedback and correction
Class 2 (45 Minutes)
- 0–5 min: Revision of previous class
- 5–20 min: Interrogative Sentences (Active → Passive)
- Rules for “do/does/did”, “am/is/are/was/were”, “have/has/had”, “shall/will”, “who/why/when”
- Examples: Do you play cricket? → Is cricket played by you?
- Past, Present, Future Tense forms included
- Practice: Convert 5 interrogative sentences
- 20–35 min: Imperative Sentences (Active → Passive)
- Rules for “advice/request/order”: “you are advised/requested/ordered”
- Examples: Do your job seriously → You are advised to do your job seriously
- Examples: Let her finish the work → Let the work be finished by her
- Practice: Convert 3 imperative sentences
- 35–45 min: Mixed Practice & Wrap-up
- Convert a mix of assertive, interrogative, and imperative sentences
- Discussion of common mistakes
- Homework: 10 active → passive sentences for further practice
