A road accident means the collision of a vehicle with another one. It also means the collision of a vehicle with a pedestrian, an animal, or anything else. A road accident can cause a lot of damage to a person; it can even kill a person. This dangerous incident has become a common occurrence on the streets of our country. Many people are getting injured, becoming disabled, losing their near and dear ones, facing financial crises, and losing emotional balance. In short, the effects of a road accident cannot be described in words. Reckless driving, drunken driving, avoiding safety gear such as seat belts and helmets, crossing the speed limit, and overtaking tendencies are some of the crucial reasons for road accidents. There are other reasons which are also responsible for road accidents: narrow and broken roads, deplorable conditions of the vehicles, avoiding traffic rules, wrong-way driving, and insufficient number of traffic police are also causing road accidents. It is high time the authority took the incident of road accidents into their consideration. They should continue constructing wide and smooth highways with multi-lanes, stop the old and unfit vehicles plying on the roads, compel the drivers to use safety gear, punish the drivers or riders if they break any traffic rules, repair the broken roads, regularly monitor whether the roads are alright and whether everything is functioning properly, create the awareness about the terrible results of road accident among the common mass.
