Once feeling thirsty an ant went to a nearby pond to quench his thirst. But the gentle waves of the pond carried him away. He was trying heart and soul to reach the bank of the pond. But reaching the bank by swimming against the weaves was very difficult for him.
Noticing his struggle, a dove plucked a leaf and dropped it near the struggling ant. The ant climbed onto the leaf and clinched to it until the weaves carried it to the other side of the pond. Climbing onto the bank, he looked up and warmly thanked the dove. The dove welcomed him smiling back.
A few days later, while the ant was walking aimlessly in search of food, he noticed the dove resting on a branch of a tree that was quite far from the ant. So, feeling very happy, he was heading toward the dove to exchange some friendly gestures.
Suddenly, he saw a hunter aiming his gun at the dove. Addressing the hunter, he said to himself, "You can't kill my friend." He quickly got on the hunter's leg and bit him as forcibly as he could. The hunter screamed and dropped the gun from his hand. Hearing the scream, the dove quickly flew off and saved himself.
A moment later, the dove returned to show his gratitude to the ant. Then, the friendship between them grew stronger. Surely, we should help anybody who is in distress.
